Making Sense of the Census by Sandra Taylor

Making Sense of the Census

This course will take you on a journey through the Irish census records using step-by-step guides, video tutorials and case studies.  Researching using Irish records can be frustrating so this course is designed to give you the answers without the clutter of information you do not need.

You will learn how to navigate and understand the census records and forms to ensure you get the maximum information from them.  You can take the course at your own pace, in your own time and repeat it over and over again.

Why Take This Course?

It can be extremely frustrating searching the Irish census records.  It is easy to get frustrated and overwhelmed and throw in the towel before you make any significant progress.
There are lots of missing records.  The variant spelling (and the mis-spelling) of first names and surnames is a complete nightmare.  The anglicisation of old Irish names add an additional complexity and challenge for us family historians.
My course will help take the pain out of searching the Irish records by helping you understand the records, how to search and interpret them and to get your life back by saving hours and maybe even days.
So, if you are struggling to see the light, this course can really help you on Your Irish Family History journey.
